Title:     Voter Services Specialist
Montgomery County Board of Elections
Reports To: Voter Services Manager
Direct Supervision: Full-Time: None
Seasonal: Possible supervision of seasonal employees

Specific Tasks:

  • Processing Voter Registration updates
  • Maintaining Voter Registration Database information
  • Data Entry
  • Processing Absentee Ballot Requests
  • Assisting In-Person Absentee Voters
  • General Office Tasks

Description: An entry-level position in the field of Election Administration. A Voter Services Specialist works primarily with the Board of Elections’ voter registration database helping manage the roughly 370,000 voter records the county maintains. Additional duties include the assisting of processing absentee ballot applications and assisting in-person absentee voters. May supervise/train seasonal staff in election season. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Basic office & phone skills, access to reliable transportation, ability to pass background check, flexibility to work overtime during elections and on deadlines, affiliated Democrat – or at next eligible Primary Election, ability to follow complex instructions.

Preferred Skills: Fluency in Microsoft Office, especially Word & Excel, data entry experience

Desired Election Administration Experience: None

Desired Education Level: High School diploma or equivalent

Hours: Regular – 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Occasional Overtime between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Paid Lunch

Salary Range (2022): $41,000 – $56,375 per year
